Huzzah!!! Rescued from obscurity!!!
The only surviving example of a batch of single panel gag cartoons I did for MARVEL AGE, Marvel Comics' official fan publication back in 1993.
I adored Ren and Stimpy. I still think it's one of the most insanely brilliant cartoons ever created. I also still think it's an absolute f***ing crime the way the suits at Nickelodeon constantly interefered with the show, ultimately driving creator John Kriscfalusi to walk away from it, leaving Ren and Stimpy a flaccid, unfunny shell of itself.
God, I need to do some George Liquor fanart. :p

I enjoyed the original Ren and Stimpy, but not so much the newer one that Spike TV released. Once the creator was allowed to get away with making the characters officially gay, it just seemed like he became way too dark and twisted with it, it was grosser and less funny than the original. (No, I'm not saying I didn't like it because they were gay, but it was a bit of a shock-to-the-brain for myself and some of my friends when we learned that they were.) My biggest problem with the new series that airred on Spike TV, however was that while it should have been rated R, when it was released on DVD as "The Lost Episodes", Target and Best Buy actually had it sitting in the family/children's sections.
... Sorry, I digress. You did a great job on this one, Rusty, it feels like something we would have seen in the original cartoon and comics. ^_^ <3
